CHANGE OF PLATFORM FOR INTERNAL-RELATED INFORMATION (please read thoroughly!)

Complying with the changes in the University's content management, we are changing our platforms where we post all internal-related information (e.g. audition timeslots, audition placements, rehearsal schedules, seating charts, etc.). In this regard, we are encouraging all members and future members of the orchestra to make sure that:

(1) REQUIRED: You fill up the online audition form here. Fill this up ASAP to ensure you receive up-to-date information (until a week before the audition weekend). Make sure that the information you put in there is also up to date. Anyone who wish to revise their information in their submitted form should send an email to Ella.Castro@unt.edu with the subject: AUDITION FORM REVISION. Kindly include the information you want to revise for the personnel database.

*All undergraduate string majors and concentrations ARE REQUIRED to take the auditions.

Graduate students who are receiving any kind of College of Music Scholarship, TA or TF, ARE REQUIRED to take this audition and remain available for orchestra placement. Masters students and GAC students with the remaining curricular requirements for large ensembles ARE ALSO REQUIRED to take the auditions.

(2) REQUIRED: You check your emails more thoroughly at this time. Orchestral Studies Personnel Manager, Ella Castro (Ella.Castro@unt.edu) will be sending weekly (or more) emails to ensure we are together in this period of change.

(3) REQUIRED: Your UNT email is updated in the personnel database. If you have received a recent email regarding updating your UNT email in the database, send an email ASAP to Ella Castro containing your full name and your UNT email address. IMPORTANT: All orchestra-related communications will only be sent to your UNT email once the classes start (August 19, 2024). Please make sure you update it before then.

(4) You enroll in an orchestra class as a placeholder. For undergraduates, enroll in any MULB 1805 sections, For graduate students, enroll in any MULB 5172 sections.

(5) You get the Canvas app. Before the second week of classes, we are going to shift all internal-related communications to Canvas. More information will be discussed in the first day of classes.
